Associates' Code of Ethics
Jobs That Make A Difference.
We, the associates (including employees, board members, volunteers and individuals we serve) of Evansville ARC, recognize the importance of our organization’s vision, mission, and core values, and accept a personal obligation to the profession of human services. Therefore, we commit ourselves to the highest ethical and professional conduct and business practices.
The associates of Evansville ARC, through our core values, pledge our commitment of services to individuals with disabilities. We will conduct ourselves professionally with truth, accuracy, fairness and responsibility. Through our pledge and commitment, we will adhere to the following principles:
- Respect
- Treat fairly all individuals;
- Maintain the confidences and privacy rights of all individuals associated with Evansville ARC, Inc.;
- To cause no harm to others property, reputation or employment by false or malicious actions;
- Recognize personal obligations and commitments of our associates and those we serve;
- Give full attention to those we serve and our associates to gain a better understanding of all needs.

- Uphold the highest business practices and principles throughout the entire organization, so that the community may witness the living strengths of Evansville ARC;
- Maintain the highest standards of honesty and integrity;
- Make wise use of organization resources, to include but not limited to use of company property, available technology, financial and human resources;
- Refuse to gossip or repeat hearsay.

- Comply with safety, health, and security regulations for the good of the associates of Evansville ARC.

- Recognize and appreciate the efforts of our associates as well as the support provided by the community;
- Recognize and be supportive to new ideas;
- Seek recognition in the community for associates;
- Excellence
- Do our best work every day;
- Make every communication easy to understand;
- Avoid using vulgar, prejudicial and/or slang language;
- Seek opportunities to participate in service to the community-at-large on behalf of Evansville ARC;
- Continue to improve our skills and knowledge base by reading and participating in professional activities as well as listening to and learning from our associates.
We commit to keeping this Code of Ethics in daily practice. We adhere to this Code of Ethics by serving as a positive example to others, including reporting violations to supervisors. Infractions that violate this Code may result in disciplinary action as outlined in the Evansville ARC Employee Handbook.
