At Evansville ARC, the Day Services Program For Adults primary focus is on enhancing quality of life for those who cannot work or are beyond the vocational age and need facility-based services.

Day ServicesDay Services Program For Adults assists individuals in learning daily life skills, social interaction techniques and in becoming more independent. Through a Person Centered Planning process, individuals give input on how they would like to spend their day, what their values and dreams are and how Evansville ARC can best help them achieve their goals and dreams.

Assistive TechnologyAssistive Technology
For individuals with communication challenges expressing their thoughts, wants, and needs is a frustrating, and many times, seemingly impossible task. With the ability to use the assistive technology devices, individuals with disabilities can now communicate with their friends, family members and direct care staff and have the opportunity to become more active community members.

Through the support of a grant, individuals with communication difficulties in the Day Services Program For Adults are assessed to determine how to assist in improving communication including the use of an assistive technology device if appropriate. These devices can improve an individual’s communication skills and allow him or her to learn alternative forms of communication. (Back to Top)

Community IntegrationCommunity Involvement
The Day Services Program For Adults feels strongly about increasing an individual’s independence in the community and thus incorporates community involvement as a routine activity.

Individuals visit local parks, museums, festivals, recreational facilities and other locations at minimal or no cost to the individual. Through community involvement individuals are able to participate in all phases of daily living and increase their involvement in the community. The outings also give an individual the opportunity to explore educational, recreational and artistic entertainment programs available in the community at minimal or no cost to the participant.
