How You Can HelpWe currently are in need of volunteers willing to do tutoring with our individuals, and we have several individuals who want help enhancing their reading and computer skills. Nothing compares to the excitement and fulfillment of reaching a goal you have set for yourself. Connections For Life gives individuals with developmental disabilities an opportunity to set and meet their goals, gaining a sense of achievement while becoming an active member of our community. Connections For Life participants have a wide variety of abilities and skills to contribute. Currently, participants are actively volunteering in locations such as non-profit agencies, schools and churches. For example, if a participant would like to work with animals, a staff member will help find a volunteer placement with an animal shelter or pet store. Participants complete educational activities as well. For someone interested in learning a new skill or hobby (such as ceramics or computers), the coordinator may seek continuing education classes to help the individual meet his or her goal.
