Accomplishments/Outcomes
2005/2006

  • Successfully matched 113 individuals with disabilities to meaningful social, recreational, and volunteer opportunities that helped them become more involved in their community and form long-lasting relationships
  • Individuals in this program volunteered at 51 non-profit organizations in the tri-state area
  • Three individuals transitioned from volunteering to paid community jobs because they were given the opportunity to participate in the community
  • University of Evansville (UE) Best Buddies chapter won the Chapter of the Year award and Diane Triplett, faculty advisor for the chapter, won the Faculty of the Year award from Best Buddies Indiana. Best Buddies was also implemented at the University of Southern Indiana
