Jerome is an excellent example of how hard work and a positive attitude can lead to success. Jerome has been working at the Wal-Mart Supercenter on the eastside of Evansville for the past six years. At Wal-Mart, Jerome brings the shopping carts from the parking lot back to the store and helps carry out purchases and merchandise for customers.

“I like the work,” says Jerome. He works full-time, five days a week for Wal-Mart and receives full-time employee benefits, such as insurance and paid time off.

Jerome is a dependable and consistent employee according to Kevin Williams, his current job coach. Kevin also comments that he “always receives a good report” when he checks in with the store managers on Jerome’s progress.

During the ice storm in January of 2009, Jerome was one of the few employees able to get to work at Wal-Mart. He showed up everyday and helped as needed during those days – a great confirmation of his reliability.

Jerome has his own apartment, and when he is not working, he enjoys working out at his local gym, going to bookstores, and watching Indianapolis Colts’ football games. He also has taken classes at Ivy Tech to further his education.
